OPM engine parts

If you own a earthmoving machine you will, one day, need compatible engine parts, even if it is only filters or fluids. Whatever the OPM engine parts you need though, Precision Power Parts (P3) in Spartan, Johannesburg, is the company to source them. P3 is part of the TGS Group, which was founded in 1995, and P3 OPM engine parts are the best OPM (Original Parts Manufacturers) spares in the aftermarket industry. We have put together a few warning signs regarding diesel engines that you should be aware of:

Excess black smoke at full load – this indicates hot unburned fuel and is caused by overfueling, overloading , a faulty turbocharger ao operating in too high a gear. It can also mean a dirty air ceaner – check with P3 for OPM engine parts

Blue smoke – this indicates excessive oil consumption possibly cause by engine hours – could be worn rings or liners, valve seating or turbocharger seals – P3 carries the parts

White smoke – steam caused by water in the combustion chamber or if at startup by unburned fuel. Could be a leaking head gasket or a cracked cylinder head, faulty injector or injector timing or low quality fuel. Call P3 for advice and engine parts

Increased oil consumption – excessive engine hours, worn or broken rings or liners, valve guides or turbocharger seals. P3 has the parts

Unusual noises – worn piston bushes, rod or main bearings, too much valve lash or a malfunctioning turbocharger.

Lack of power – dirty air or fuel filter, low quality fuel, improperly set points, governor linkeage or malfunctioning injectors

Increased fuel consumption – fuel leak, air cleaner, improperly set points, faulty turbocharger or injectors. Get your OPM engine parts from P3

Overheating – plugged radiator core, low coolant level, faulty temperature regulators, belt adjustment or slipping torque converter, dirty air cleaner.

Debris in oil filter – damaged bearings, overdue oil change, coolant leakage into crankcase

Difficult to start – worn injector pump or faulty injectors, low cranking speed, low quality fuel (low octane rating)

The above faults are some of the more common faults that may occur with your diesel engine from time to time – if you notice any of these the time to act is now – doing so as soon as you identify one of these faults can save you a lot of money in the long run.
